semantics benefit February 23rd

February 20th, 2012  |  Published in Announcements

Dear *semantics* supporters-

In August 2011, we tried to do something a little different with our annual fund-raiser.

We picked some of our favorite pieces to auction off live, it didn’t work. The only people at the ‘live’ auction were artists. We love our artists and supporters, but potential buyers were already ‘in bed’. Enough said.

We planned to try an “online auction”, but didn’t get it together. So now we are staging a great “last dance/ last chance auction”. We feel obligated to return the works back to the artists if the artworks don’t ‘sell’. These are some of the best artists in the region and beyond. They contributed work that is personal, creative, exciting and very well executed. They want to support semantics and we deeply appreciate their contributions.

So please join us on Thursday, February 23, 7-9 pm at *semantics* to bid on these really fantastic pieces of art created by really fantastic artists. Silent bidding begins at 7pm and will end at 8:30 pm. Bids will be accepted via e-mail at from 7pm until 8:30 pm.

semantics needs funds to continue as an open, engaging, and provocative experimental space. A website is coming soon!
