Say so long to summer with hot steel drums and cold ice cream at the
Taft Museum of Art
HOT MUSIC-COLD TREATS
Sunday, August 26, 2–4 p.m.
Firelytes Steel Drum Band
Continuing the old-fashioned tradition of a neighborhood band concert
and ice cream social, the Taft Museum of Art invites you to enjoy Hot
Music-Cold Treats, a free, late-summer delight under the shady tent in
the garden. United Dairy Farmers has donated free cups of ice cream
for all guests, and Firelytes Steel Drum Band will help burn off the
calories.
This fun, fiery, and entertaining ensemble of pan players and
percussionists enjoys engaging audiences in an energetic groove
explosion of cross-cultural music. They perform the flavorful and
festive sounds of Soca, Calypso, Latin, R&B, pop, classical, and jazz
on an amazing variety of 55-gallon oil barrels and drums. Are you
ready to limbo?
FREE. No reservations taken. Information: (513) 241-0343 or www.taftmuseum.org
