Call to Artists: NKY Restoration Weekend Poster Contest

November 1st, 2012  |  Published in Announcements

NKY Restoration Weekend steering committee is seeking artists for the 2013 NKY Restoration Weekend Poster Competition. The winning design will become the official visual icon for Northern Kentucky’s annual restoration fair and educational event with a cash prize of $250.

The historic fabric of Northern Kentucky is one of our community’s biggest assets. Connecting with artists to share how the craftsmanship and artistry of our historic structures speak to them is an exciting addition to the second year of the NKY Restoration Weekend.

In order to qualify, artists must be 18 years of age or over and live within a 75-mile radius of the host cities of Covington, Newport or Bellevue. Artists can use their favorite media(s) and must incorporate all the mandatory information found on the poster contest application. Artists are asked to convey the theme of historic architecture, historic building details, craftsmanship, building trades, riverfront landscapes or topics that celebrate the historic architecture, craftsmanship, and materials found in Northern Kentucky. Submissions must be vertical 16″ x 24″ mounted to mat board or form core for judging. The steering committee will accept entries at Covington City Hall until December 14, 2012 at 4:30. The winner will be announced on December 21, 2012.

This year’s NKY Restoration Weekend will be held on Saturday, February, 23, 2013 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Gateway Urban Campus located at 525 Scott Boulevard in Covington, KY. There will be a wide selection of educational programs, expert panels, vendor displays, and hands-on workshops.
