Changes in Covington arts management

Natalie Bowers was recently promoted as Covington’s Marketing & Communications Director.

Bowers wrote the following:

Cate Yellig has been named as the next Arts Director for the City and she started the job today. Last night, she was unanimously approved by the City and I am sure she will progress the city’s Arts initiative even further. Cate and I will be working closely together, as she will be directly reporting to me. We will be transitioning her into this role over the next two weeks or so, and I am hoping to personally introduce you to her within this time.

A native of Cincinnati, Cate has a Master’s Degree in Art History and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, with an emphasis on Business. Formerly, she was the Director of the Phyllis Weston Gallery for seven years, an adjunct professor at Antonelli College, and recently co-founded a non-profit impact agency for urban creatives. I have had the pleasure of working with Cate for the last two months, as she is also a Guest Curator on the AEC’s Jury Panel and is curating the 2013’s first exhibition that opens this Friday, domino 02: aqua – I hope you will try to make this opening and perhaps say hello to Cate and welcome her to Covington.

Cate’s unique blend of appropriate skillset, experience and professionally entrepreneurial demeanor is what we thought made her the most suited candidate.
