Summer Teacher Institute 2013: A Cincinnati Story at the Cincinnati Art Museum

July 9th, 2013  |  Published in Announcements

The eleventh annual Summer Teacher Institute will bring local educators closer to artwork in our permanent collections and special exhibitions through an in-depth, cross-curricular study of Cincinnati art and artists.  Teachers will then be empowered to act as a bridge connecting their students to the Art Museum and its collections and special exhibitions.  The program combines guest speakers, docent-led tours in the galleries, arts integration lesson plans, breakout group discussions, an offsite field trip, and art making workshops.  Teachers will leave with a new-found understanding of Cincinnati’s rich art history and practical classroom applications for this new understanding.
