Portrait and Figurative Artist, Marlene Steele has been nominated and approved by the board of the Portrait Society of America for the position of Arts Ambassador of the State of Ohio.
The mission of the State Ambassador program is to foster greater awareness of the Portrait and Figurative Art and to inspire interested artists toward consistent improvements in methods and techniques. Individuals designated for this important outreach program are selected on the basis of personal craft and commitment to the mission of the program and are approved by the Board of the Portrait Society of America. Steele has been a practicing portrait artist for 24 years in Ohio, and resides in Cincinnati. She has painted the portraits of numerous people of note in the area, teaches classes and seminars related to figurative drawing and painting, and has also gained respect as an effective courtroom artist.
