Description: Figure Drawing is an intensive 5-day workshop focusing on how to accurately draw the human figure. Using a system of measurements and anatomical landmarks students will learn to efficiently and accurately construct the human figure. Both short poses and sustained poses will be used throughout the week, allowing students to exercise the necessary stages of figure drawing from the basic block-in and gesture, to value control, modelling and rendering. Emphasis will be on correctly proportioned figures with strong gesture. In addition to concentrated, individual instruction, demonstrations and lectures will be given throughout the workshop to help illustrate many of the concepts and techniques imperative to accurate figure drawing.

Public Drawing Demonstration by Shane Wolf
Saturday, August 18, 2012 – 6-10p.m.

Admission: $20 (Student Rate: $10*)

Description: Open to the public. During this drawing session, Shane Wolf will draw from a live model, demonstrating his approach to focused observation and accurate measurement, culminating in a masterful figure drawing. Wolf will draw for approximately 3 and a half hours with a brief wine/refreshment intermission and concluding with a half hour question and answer session.

Portrait Drawing Weekend Workshop with Shane Wolf

Friday, August 24, 6-9p.m., Saturday/Sunday, August 25/26, 2012, 10a.m.-5p.m.

Description: The Portrait Drawing Weekend Workshop will focus on the fundamental elements necessary for successful portrait drawing. Key anatomical landmarks of the skull, facial features and neck anatomy will be covered in order to improve the student’s understanding of the human head in space. Participants will be drawing from the live model on a daily basis so as to learn the various essential stages an effective portrait drawing.
