Goetzman, a CPA Advisory Board member, has been involved in preservation and restoration in the Tri-State and beyond since the early 1960s. Some of his many projects include Memorial Hall (Cincinnati) restoration work in the 1980s; the Greek Revival former Universalist Church in Newtown, OH, one of the earliest buildings in one of Hamilton County’s oldest towns; and the Elisha Morgan Mansion in Fairfield, OH.
“Bruce Goetzman has been the guiding hand of preservation in Cincinnati for decades,” says Paul Muller, CPA Executive Director. “The city is known throughout the nation for its historic character and Bruce has had an essential role in both restoring buildings and in advocating for preservation.”
Goetzman, an emeritus professor of architecture at the University of Cincinnati, taught at the university for more than four decades and was one of the founders of the interdisciplinary Certificate in Historic Preservation program. He has also served on numerous boards including the Ohio Historical Society, Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board, Preservation Ohio, and Cincinnati Museum Center’s History Museum Board.
