Comic book artist and writer David Mack will create multiple drawings from the live model. Mack is best known for his work in watercolor and collage, however this demonstration will highlight his ink and brush practice recently featured in an exhibition including works by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele at Century Guild in Los Angeles and Chicago. Audience participants are encouraged to observe, ask questions, and gain insight from the artist’s process. Mack’s drawings will be up for bidding in an auction during the demonstration. The drawings will be awarded to the highest bidders after the event (auction details forthcoming). The demonstration will begin at 5:00 pm, with a brief wine and cheese intermission part way through. Doors open at 4pm.
David Mack is the New York Times Best Selling artist, author, and creator of Kabuki, writer and artist of Marvel Comics’ Daredevil, and writer and artist of his children’s book The Shy Creatures. He is also the creator of the last two seasons of Showtime’s Dexter: Early Cuts and has recently illustrated poetry collaborations with Neil Gaiman and U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
Mack has been nominated for four International Eagle Awards, seven Eisner Awards, and both Harvey and Kirby Awards. Mack is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University, and his books have been the subject of undergraduate and graduate courses around the country.

On-street parking is available on Madison and Whetsel Avenue. Public parking lot available nearby on Madison. The number 11 bus stops on Madison, one block from the Drawing Center.
