Covington’s 8th annual Art Off Pike urban art show this Sunday

September 25th, 2012  |  Published in Announcements

This Sunday, Sept. 30th, 11-5pm 7th Street btn Madison/Washington

This Sunday, Covington’s 8th annual Art Off Pike urban art show – the show that supports artists and downtown Covington as a great place to live, play and work, wholly staffed by volunteers and is just generally a great creative day in the city – commences at 11:00 am on 7th Street in the heart of downtown Covington between Madison and Washington streets. Over 60 local, regional and national artists will have their best work on display for what many are saying will be the best show yet. This event is open to the public and free of charge and opportunities for buying unique gifts and Christmas presents will be aplenty.

Art Off Pike also boasts an exciting children’s component called Picasso’s Playground, an entire section of the festival dedicated to kids, which makes this day not only for art lovers but for families! Picasso’s Playground will be loaded with interactive art projects for children of all ages and facilitated by art & cultural organizations, including the Carnegie Visual and Performing Center for the Arts, Baker Hunt Arts & Cultural Center, Behringer Crawford Museum, the Kenton County Library, My Nose Turns Red, Bbooks, Art Machine and so many more.

Delicious and nutritious food will be available, provided by Deeper Roots Coffee, LIME Taqueria, Cafe de Wheels, Streetpops, C’est Cheese Cincy and Yankee Doodle Pretzel.

There will also be music playing throughout the festival, mostly of the very groovy jazz variety chosen by our fearless Chairman and urban art lover Jim Guthrie, a perfect set of tunes to titillate the ears as your eyes enjoy the artwork.

We look forward to having you all at Art Off Pike this Sunday. Thanks to you all for another successful and creatively inspired event.

Warm Regards,
The Art Off Pike Committee
