COVINGTON, KY – Curator Brian Harmon and the Artisan Enterprise Center team up to promote Arts prosperity with upcoming pop-up exhibit 50/50 Art Show and Sale. The event is two days only from February 22 – 23.
The premise is simple: an exhibition of 50 works of art, created by 50 local artists, all for sale for exactly $50 a piece. Curator Brian Harmon launched the exhibition to combat the effects of a weakened economy stating, “The recent economy has greatly effected the arts market for both artists and art collectors. An exhibition like 50/50 allows patrons to purchase original art at a great price and also allows artists to make connections with the local arts community.”
The exhibition is a collaborative initiative, meant to engage, inspire, and promote. It is an innovative way to connect artists with economic opportunity and collectors with affordable art. To further promote economic prosperity, 100% of sales goes directly to the artists. The inaugural 50/50 Art Show and Sale, held over two years ago was immensely successful and nearly all of the artwork sold.
Any artist or creative over the age of eighteen can submit their work to the jury. The
Call to Artists can be found on the 50/50 Art Show facebook event, or your can download the prospectus from dropbox.
