Covington Public hearing Thursday, February 7, 6pm, at City Hall Commission Chambers

February 2nd, 2013  |  Published in Announcements

Dear Valued Covington Residents and Stakeholders,

You are invited to attend a public hearing Thursday, February 7, 6pm, at City Hall Commission Chambers, regarding the expenditure of federal dollars used for city projects and improvements for the next five years. At this meeting we will give a very short presentation on the basics of the funding, and then we will listen and record your opinions on community needs.

The City of Covington is, according to HUD (Housing and Urban Development Department) terminology, an ‘entitlement city’, meaning that it receives both Community Development Block Grant funds and HOME Investment Partnership Funds from HUD. One requirement of administering these funds is to assess community needs and develop place-based market-driven strategies to meet those needs in the form of a Consolidated Plan.

The purpose of the upcoming meeting is to engage with the community and gather feedback that will ultimately influence the City’s expenditure of these funds.

Please join us.
